The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has successfully completed another phase of grading and classification of accommodation facilities across the country, reaffirming its commitment to enhancing service standards within Uganda’s tourism sector.
Conducted in line with Regulation 5(4) of the Uganda Tourism (Classification of Accommodation Facilities and Restaurants) Regulations, 2014, the exercise assessed hotels, lodges, vacation facilities, villas, cottages, and serviced apartments to determine their star ratings. This systematic grading provides assurance to both domestic and international travellers on the quality of services and facilities offered.
The 2025 results feature a range of properties awarded star ratings—from two to four stars—highlighting continued investment and improvement in Uganda’s hospitality industry. Among the top performers is Lake Victoria Granada Hotel, which attained a Four-Star rating, while several town hotels, lodges, and serviced apartments achieved Two and Three-Star status.
