Uganda has made a powerful return to IBTM World 2025, taking place from 18–20 November at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain. The Uganda Convention Bureau (UCB), together with 10 private sector MICE companies, is proudly showcasing the country’s growing capacity in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE).
This year’s participation also features a coordinated national presence, with Gofan Safaris & Travel Africa; Matooke Tours; Speke Resort Convention Centre; Gazelle Safari Company; Lasta Events; Lake Kitandara Tours & Travel; MICE Uganda; Hornbill Treks & Safaris; Serena Hotels; and Paraa Safari Lodge — Marasa Africa, the Uganda Hotel Owners Association represented by Chairperson Mrs. Susan Muhwezi and the Uganda Embassy in Paris represented by H.E. Doreen Amule. The strong delegation reflects Uganda’s commitment to bolstering its MICE competitiveness in line with the MICE Strategy 2025–2030.
Led by Director Rashid Kiyimba, UTB CEO Ms. Juliana Kagwa, Senior MICE Officer Ms. Tukeikiriza Mellon, Sales Officer Paul Mugabo, and Business Development Officer Henry Bukenya, the team is highlighting Uganda’s comprehensive MICE ecosystem—from venues and hotels to DMCs and event service providers.
IBTM World 2025, described as more global and innovation-driven, offers Uganda a strategic platform to demonstrate its readiness for tech-enabled, large-scale business events. With strong engagement in B2B meetings, destination presentations, and networking sessions, the Uganda Convention Bureau is reinforcing its core role of providing impartial advice, planning support, and destination expertise to international event planners.
This year’s return—after Uganda missed the 2024 edition—signals the country’s renewed commitment to increasing global visibility, strengthening partnerships, and positioning Uganda as one of Africa’s next major MICE hubs.
