UGANDA EMBASSY IN BERLIN HOSTS UGANDA–GERMANY TOURISM AND INVESTMENT FORUM IN FRANKFURT

The Uganda Embassy in Berlin, under the leadership of Ambassador Stephen Mubiru, successfully hosted the Uganda–Germany Tourism and Investment Forum on 27th November 2025 at the Avani Hotel in Frankfurt. The high-level gathering brought together Ugandan and German government officials, travel operators, industry experts, and private-sector representatives committed to expanding bilateral cooperation.

The Forum provided a strategic platform to highlight Uganda’s tourism assets, priority sectors for investment, and emerging opportunities for collaboration with German stakeholders. Key focus areas included:

  • Sustainable tourism development
  • Infrastructure investment
  • Coffee production and export
  • Renewable energy
  • Agribusiness
  • The creative economy

These discussions underscored Uganda’s strong positioning in the region and its readiness to welcome high-impact partnerships.

Ambassador Mubiru’s Key Message

During his keynote address, Ambassador Stephen Mubiru reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for international investors. He emphasized the importance of Germany as a strategic partner in development and tourism promotion:

“Uganda is ready for deeper collaboration with Germany our trusted partner in development, technology, and tourism promotion. Germany is among our key markets in tourism and coffee buyers. This Forum marks another milestone in strengthening our shared goals of innovation-led growth and sustainable investment.”

His remarks set the tone for a day focused on strengthening long-term cooperation between the two countries.

Interactive Sessions and Networking

Participants took part in interactive panel discussions, business-to-business engagements, and presentations by:

  • East Africa Adventures
  • German travel and investment partners

These sessions highlighted market trends, investment needs, and collaborative pathways for expanding Uganda’s presence in Germany’s tourism and business landscapes.

The Forum concluded with a commitment to establish follow-up working groups tasked with transforming discussions into actionable initiatives for 2026 and beyond. These groups will focus on:

  • Strengthening tourism value chains
  • Enhancing sector-specific partnerships
