Kampala – Uganda, 2nd August 2026. Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) joins the rest of Uganda to welcome home the Ghetto Kids, the celebrated Kampala born dance troupe, who are set to arrive back in Uganda on Monday, 3rd, August, following their landmark performance at the FIFA World Cup 2026 final in New Jersey, United States.
The group captured the world’s attention at the 2026 World Cup Finals on 19 July when they danced alongside global superstars Shakira and Burna Boy during the tournament’s halftime show, performing the official World Cup anthem “Dai Dai” before one of the largest television audiences in sporting history. Their appearance marked another milestone in their journey that began on the streets of Kampala.
UTB recognizes the Ghetto Kids as powerful ambassadors for Uganda, whose talent, infectious resilience, and joy continue to introduce global audiences to our country’s culture and creative spirit, complementing Uganda’s identity as the Pearl of Africa on the world stage. “On behalf of Uganda Tourism Board, I congratulate the Ghetto Kids on a truly historic performance on the world’s biggest stage. They have shown the world the talent, energy, and heart of Uganda, and we are proud to welcome them home.
