Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) participated in the UG Catalyst Summit 2026, co-convened by the National Planning Authority (NPA), the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (MTIC), and Innovation Village Hub. UTB joined the Tourism & Creative Industries panel discussion, focused on building globally competitive, market-ready tourism and creative enterprises.
During the panel, UTB emphasised that positioning Uganda as a globally competitive destination requires strong partnerships between tourism, the creative economy, and enterprise development. Such collaboration is essential to creating market-ready experiences, building competitive local enterprises, and increasing visitor value across the sector.
UTB also highlighted that destination branding is a shared responsibility, encouraging all stakeholders present to be intentional about how they portray Uganda. The message underscored that every actor across the tourism and creative value chain has a role to play in shaping the country’s global image.
The Summit featured a Ministerial Address by Hon. Sanjay Tanna, who underscored the importance of enterprise-led growth, innovation, and stronger public-private collaboration in driving Uganda’s economic transformation. His remarks reinforced the Summit’s broader call for coordinated action between government, industry, and innovators to accelerate the country’s development agenda.
