IMEX in Frankfurt is the largest trade show in Europe for the meetings and events industry. It brings together global event planners, buyers and suppliers with significant buying power. IMEX Expo 2022 is taking place in Frankfurt at Messe Frankfurt, the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events from 31st May to 2nd June 2022.
Key highlights for day 1.
Pre- IMEX ICCA policy meeting
Prior to the policy forum, there was the pre-policy ICCA meeting that brought together the ICCA Africa member representatives with the objective; to learn the best practices of global business events, utilizing the potential of ICCA membership in generating potential destinations ‘business leads and harness the opportunity of networking with the ICCA members in Africa .ICCA is the International Congress and Conference Association that brings together the International Associations that hold conferences across the globe annually. Uganda Convention Bureau is a member of ICCA, and it was represented by Lilly Ajarova CEO UTB, and Rosemary Kobutagi commissioner Tourism Development at this forum.
IMEX Policy Forum
This forum brought together; national policy makers, association leaders, destination innovators and industry thought leaders; to discuss and influence the future direction of business events related to policy making and strategic destination marketing. Lilly Ajarova-CEO UTB and Rosemary Kobutagi represented Uganda Convention Bureau at the IMEX policy Forum that took place at Frankfurt Marriott Hotel today the 31st May 2022. The team was joined by Amb. Danny M Ssozi the Deputy Head of Mission-Embassy of Uganda in Germany.
The policy Forum was moderated by Rick Taylor; the global MICE consultant from the Tourism Business Company who is currently supporting the operationalization of UCB as an arm to promote Uganda’s MICE offering
IMEX Diary appointments
The Team at the Exhibition booth was also joined by MDR Kerstin Saenger. The team handled several confirmed diary individual and group appointments in addition to walk in buyers interested in business events and incentive travel.
Uganda convention Bureau at IMEX 2022 is represented by;
The delegation was joined by the Team from the Ugandan Embassy in Berlin-Germany led by the Deputy Head of Mission H.E Amb.Danny M. Ssozi. Uganda Convention Bureau is joined by 7 private sector players operating in the MICE space at this Expo.
