UGANDA HOSTS GLOBAL INCENTIVE TRAVEL BUYERS ON EXCLUSIVE FAMILIARIZATION TRIP
Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), through the Uganda Convention Bureau, is hosting a group of 10 esteemed global hosted buyers from the incentive travel market on an exclusive familiarization (FAM) trip across Uganda. These buyers represent some of our core and emerging source markets and are in the country as part of UTB’s proactive sales-bidding strategy to promote Uganda as a premier incentive destination for global corporations.
Showcasing Uganda’s Incentive Potential
The visit is tailored to immerse the buyers in Uganda’s high-value incentive offerings through a combination of wilderness adventures, cultural immersion, primate trekking, safari experiences, and technical site inspections of premium incentive-grade properties.
Their itinerary includes:
- Kampala – Exploration of the city’s vibrant nightlife, cultural activities, and urban attractions that appeal to incentive groups seeking dynamic social and entertainment options.
- Kibale National Park – Primate tracking and authentic community encounters designed to showcase Uganda’s unique wildlife and cultural experiences.
- Queen Elizabeth National Park – Classic savannah safari activities, including game drives and a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, offering a blend of relaxation and wildlife viewing ideal for incentive itineraries.
Across these destinations, the buyers will conduct site inspections of high-end lodges and incentive-ready facilities to assess Uganda’s capacity to host sophisticated incentive programs.
Connecting With the MICE Value Chain
During the FAM trip, the hosted buyers will also meet with a wide range of private sector players in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) ecosystem. These include:
- Hotels and lodges
- Destination marketing companies
- Professional events companies
- Tourism associations
These engagements are designed to facilitate business-to-business connections, deepen market understanding, and strengthen Uganda’s visibility among global incentive planners.
Demonstrating Uganda’s Professional Capacity
The Uganda Convention Bureau is a proud member of SITE (Society for Incentive Travel Excellence), the leading global association for incentive travel professionals. This membership underscores Uganda’s commitment to international standards, professional excellence, and the long-term development of incentive travel within the destination.
