Kampala, Uganda. 22nd January 2025. The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), in partnership with the Uganda Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is delighted to announce the arrival of a delegation of trade partners for a familiarization trip that commenced on 21st January 2025. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Uganda Tourism Board and Emirates Airline, a strategic partnership to promote Uganda as a premier tourism destination.

The visit, coordinated with Uganda’s mission in Abu Dhabi, will see eleven (11) delegates explore Uganda’s most iconic tourist attractions. Among the highlights of their itinerary is a visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the world-famous mountain gorillas. This immersive experience will provide the delegates with first-hand insights into Uganda’s unique offerings as a travel destination.

Speaking about the initiative, Ambassador Zaake Kibedi, Uganda’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, remarked, “This visit is a step forward in strengthening the ties between Uganda and the UAE through Emirates Airlines. By showcasing Uganda’s exceptional tourism assets, we aim to build lasting partnerships that will bring more visitors to experience the Pearl of Africa.”

The familiarization trip is a testament to the strategic importance of collaboration that enhances connectivity and showcases Uganda’s unique tourism offerings to the world. Together, we are opening new doors for travelers to discover the beauty, culture, and adventure that define the Pearl of Africa.”

Mohamed Taher, Emirates Country Manager, Uganda, said, “As we mark our 25th year of service to Entebbe, we are proud to support the Uganda Tourism Board and bring key tastemakers in travel trade to experience the Pearl of Africa. Uganda is a much-loved destination on our African network, due to its stunning natural landscapes, wildlife, adventure sports, and warm culture.
