The Managing Director of Nation Media Group (NMG), Ms. Suzan Nsibirwa, together with her senior management team, paid a courtesy call to the Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Ms. Juliana Kagwa, and her team at the UTB head offices.

The engagement focused on exploring areas of collaboration and partnership aimed at enhancing Uganda’s visibility as a competitive and attractive destination in the region and beyond.

Key areas of discussion included:

  • Tourism content development and dissemination, leveraging Nation Media Group’s wide-reaching media platforms to tell compelling stories about Uganda’s unique attractions.
  • Strengthening destination marketing, ensuring Uganda’s diverse offerings — from wildlife and culture to adventure and gastronomy — receive consistent and innovative media coverage.
  • Mainstreaming tourism reporting, with a commitment to cultivating specialized tourism journalism that can inform, educate, and inspire travelers.

In her remarks, Ms. Kagwa welcomed Nation Media Group’s interest in working with UTB, emphasizing the Board’s priority to build strategic alliances with credible media houses in order to amplify the Explore Uganda – The Pearl of Africa brand. She reiterated UTB’s readiness to collaborate on initiatives that will raise the profile of Uganda as a must-visit destination while contributing to the growth of the tourism sector.

On her part, Ms. Nsibirwa affirmed Nation Media Group’s commitment to supporting the tourism sector, noting that tourism is not only a key driver of economic growth but also a powerful avenue for projecting Uganda’s positive image to global audiences. She expressed optimism that a formalized partnership would deliver impactful results, particularly in showcasing success stories, promoting tourism events, and highlighting opportunities within the sector.

The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to develop a framework for collaboration, which will include joint campaigns, editorial partnerships, and targeted tourism features across multiple platforms.

This partnership underscores a shared vision by UTB and Nation Media Group to ensure that Uganda’s story is told consistently, creatively, and to the widest possible audience—positioning the Pearl of Africa as a top destination in Africa and the world.
