UTB, an equal opportunity employer, seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and competent Ugandan professional to fill the following position:
To provide strategic and inspirational leadership to UTB team, ensuring that UTB has a clear and compelling vision and well developed strategic and risk assurance plans that result in the delivery of quality services to achieve the organization’s mandate as specified in the Tourism Act.
Investment promotion and facilitation.
Managing the quality assurance function of UTB including ensuring internal risk controls, risk management and governance processes
Coordination of Support to the private sector institutions
Enhancing Efficiency and Effectiveness in Public Procurement and Disposal at UTB.
Strategy Formulation & Implementation and Performance Management.
Strategic contribution, policy development, and review to support UTB operations and processes.
Development of the MICE Industry.
Resource Mobilisation and Stakeholder Management.
Team Performance Management.
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of a Master’s Degree in either Management, Economics, or Business Administration; or Tourism; or Marketing; or Law; or any other course closely related to any of the above disciplines from a recognized University/ Institution.
Applicants should have a minimum of ten (10) years relevant management experience, seven (7) of which should have been served at a Senior Management level in a reputable Organization.
Applicants should have proven experience in Tourism, Planning, Financial and Human Resource Management, Marketing, Public Relations and Resource Mobilization.
Applicants should have; Excellent knowledge in Tourism; Policy Development and Analysis; Communication both oral and written; Planning and Budgeting; Excellent Understanding of Auditing Techniques; Resource Mobilization; Team Building; Coordinating and Networking at national and international level and leadership, Supervisory Skills and Interpersonal Relations.
Visionary leadership with a strong sense of integrity and ethics.
Innovative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Overall knowledge of the economic and market environment in which the private sector is operating, including the wider African and international regions.
Resource mobilization, utilization and accountability.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer is a full-time position within a strong value-based and result oriented organizational culture. This position requires a high level of team collaboration yet also requires significant autonomy. Due to the nature of the job, the Chief Executive Officer may be required to travel frequently, from time to time, and work longer hours to meet the demands of the job.
